Clover Canyon Resort 2014
Prints are pretty much a prerequisite for Resort and Rozae Nichols goes full throttle in the pattern department for Clover Canyon’s Resort 2014 collection. With each season, the brand gains more celebrity traction, and her latest designs are the most vibrant and ogle-worthy yet: relatively simple on the silhouette front, but more than eye-catching when it comes to color.
Gucci Resort 2014
Gucci is a fashion house known for its over-the-top decadence and glamour, but the brand’s latest collection for Resort 2014 is much more relaxed. With a focus on travel-ready styles, Frida Giannini pulls inspiration from Rio de Janeiro: a city that will soon be on the minds of many as it is hosting next year’s World Cup. The city’s vibrant colors and effortless sex appeal are blatant in the designs from easy jumpsuits to shimmering party dresses.
Christopher Kane Men’s Spring 2014
Taking cues from his resort womenswear options, Christopher Kane applies the same retro-futuristic sensibilities to his Spring Menswear looks. The collection bows with shoolboy fabrics and silhouettes, morphing into pieces boasting the same computer line artwork we saw for the girls. This offering includes a larger male face and mountainous landscapes, along with the obligatory woman’s torso.
Christopher Kane Resort 2014
I loath to call it Revenge of the Nerds, but I am compelled to. With iconography of the early digital age in mind, Christopher Kane devises a truly unique Resort offering. Working with schoolgirl-reminiscent silhouettes alongside more refined shapes, the designer imagines sweet pinafore frocks, sporty separates both commanding and athletic, and a gorgeous gown or two for good measure.
House Of Holland Resort 2014
Henry Holland excels at whimsical, outrageous design and his latest looks for House of HollandResort 2014 are right in line with his signature aesthetic: fun and flirty pieces for fashion’s most daring. Taking cues from the performance getups of Motown’s most famous ’60s bands including The Supremes and The Jackson 5, the offerings are spilling over with dazzling prints and retro-inspired silhouettes: with a modern twist of course.
Mary Katrantzou Resort 2014
Mary Katrantzou‘s first resort offering is in a way, all about expanding one’s horizons. The designer used photographs from her own travels to create a new crop of those stunning digital prints from which she’s made her name. How fitting an inspiration for a first collection heralding the expansion of her flourishing label.
Katrantzou superimposes scenes from Europe, Asia, and South America to tailored dresses and separates. Included are scenes of French flower fields, images of apartment buildings in São Paulo, picturesque views of the Swiss Alps, a Japanese bridge, and more.

Ashish Spring 2014
Ashish Gupta combined the mundane with glitz and glamour for his Spring 2014 collection, giving denim, polo shirts, and loafers a flashy and fun spin. Inspired by those late nights when the traces of your party looks are melded (not always artfully) with more comfortable attire, the looks were most certainly eclectic: a mixture of diverse and not always congruous elements, true to the brand’s funky and eye-catching aesthetic.
